imagebroker und das iPad // imagebroker and the iPad

Wer hätte das gedacht? Die erste imagebroker App für das iPad ist online! Wieder einmal gehen wir neue Wege und rühren mit Hilfe der tollen “image-books” App kräftig die Werbetrommel für imagebroker und die aussergewöhnlichen Bilder unserer Fotografen.

Wer schon ein iPad besitzt, kann sich die Beautiful Wildlife App hier ansehen und im iTunes Store herunterladen.

Da Apps für iPad und iPhone absolutes Neuland für uns sind, können wir natürlich noch nicht absehen, wieviel Erfolg und wieviele Downloads wir mit dem digitalen Bilderbuch erreichen – geplant sind auf jeden Fall noch weitere spannende Ausgaben.

Die Einnahmen aus dem App-Verkauf werden wie beim normalen Bildverkauf zwischen imagebroker und den Fotografen, deren Bilder in der App eingebunden sind, aufgeteilt. Alle Bilder der App finden sich am Ende dieses Blog-Eintrages.

Who expected this? The first imagebroker iPad app is online! Again, imagebroker is going places and is advertising outstanding images from its photographers through new channels.

Did you get hold of an iPad yet? Then you can view Beautiful Wildlife here and download it directly from the iTunes store.

As this is our first app we’ve got no idea on how successful it will be and on how many downloads of this digital image book we’ll have – but we are very keen on releasing more beautiful apps soon.

Income from app sales will – as with every ordinary image sale – be splitted between imagebroker and the photographers represented in the app. All images featured in the app:

Auf das Cover des Sonderheftes der SUPERillu hat es der imagebroker Fotograf Nico Stengert geschafft. Sowohl die wunderschönen Kreidefelsen von Rügen als auch Jena bei Nacht stammen aus seinem imagebroker Portfolio – und im Heft noch weitere Motive.

imagebroker photographer Nico Stengert made its way on to the cover of the SUPERillu special issue. Not only the wonderful coastline of the German island Rügen comes out of his portfilio – Jena at night (bottom right) and more images within the magazine were shot by him for imagebroker.

“… nachdem ich eben gesehen habe, dass die aktuellen Sales-Reports bereits online stehen, bevor das Quartal noch ganz rum ist, möchte ich mich einfach mal wieder bedanken und Ihnen meine Anerkennung für Ihr Engagement aussprechen! In Zeiten, in denen überall die Bildermärkte wegen der microstock-Agenturen zusammenbrechen, schaffen Sie es, konstant hohe oder gar steigende Verkaufszahlen im klassischen Agenturensegment zu erreichen – das ist wirklich bemerkenswert! Erfreulich, wenn man sieht, dass die eigenen Bilder plötzlich in Australien, Taiwan, Japan, Schweden, Spanien, Großbritannien verkauft werden. Und ebenso, dass sich einige Bilder immer wieder verkaufen, richtige Dauerbrenner geworden sind, … Und trotz einer rasant steigenden Gesamtzahl an Bildern, mit der ich prozentual längst nicht mehr mithalten kann, steigen die Erlöse. Das macht Freude! Herzlichen Dank! …”

“… after I’ve just noted that the current sales reports are already online, even before the quarter is over, I would just like to thank you again and pay tribute for your commitment! In times of crashing image markets due to microstock agencies, you manage to achieve constantly high or even increasing sales volumes in the classical agency segment – that is really remarkable! It’s gratifying to see one’s own images selling in Australia, Taiwan, Japan, Sweden, Spain, Great Britain. And to see some images selling again and again, having become real long runners. … And in spite of a rapidly increasing total number of images, which I’m no longer able to keep up with in terms of percentage, sales are still rising. This is great. Many thanks!”

ib 2.0 Alpha-Test hat begonnen // ib 2.0 Alpha test has started

Seit Monaten wird an unserem Projekt imagebroker 2.0 programmiert. Jetzt haben wir einen wichtigen Meilenstein erreicht und nach den ersten Tagen Alpha-Test ist mein Bangen einer gewissen Euphorie gewichen :-)

Die Alpha-Version von ib 2.0 läuft bereits auf dem neuen Servercluster aus 10 Servern und alles sieht danach aus, dass wir unsere Anforderungen an Skalierbarkeit, Schnelligkeit, Sicherheit, Wartungsfreudigkeit und Benutzerfreundlichkeit realisieren können.

Ich freue mich schon darauf, wenn wir die ersten Fotografen zum Beta-Test einladen können. Mit ib 2.0 erfinden wir imagebroker neu!

For months we have been busy programming our project imagebroker 2.0. Now we have achieved another significant milestone, and after the first days of the Alpha test my initial worries gave way to a certain euphoria. :-)

The Alpha version of ib 2.0 is already running on the new server cluster consisting of 10 servers, and it all looks like we were able to implement our requirements of scalability, speed, security, maintainability, and user-friendliness.

I’m already looking forward to being able to invite the first photographers to the Beta test. ib 2.0 is the reinvention of imagebroker!

Server laufen wieder // Servers up again

Eine Netzwerkkarte verursachte den Serverausfall heute nacht und heute morgen. Unser Servermaster Luan konnte das Problem schnell beheben.

Luan setzt übrigens gerade die neuen Server für imagebroker 2.0 auf. Er wird bald in diesem Blog darüber berichten

Our servers have been offline for a few hours this night and this morning. This was caused by a network card. Our server master Luan has solved the problem swiftly.

By the way, Luan is busy setting up the servers for imagebroker 2.0. He will soon write about it in this blog.
